American artist, print maker and book illustrator, McGraw was born in Okemah, Oklahoma, in 1945. He attended the Otis Art Institute and the Cranbrook Academy of Art and taught fine art at Northern Kentucky University (1972-1975) and the University of San Diego (1978-1983).
